A quick note from me as a fighter

It's important to choose professional hand wraps I have been using Velcro closure system wraps for over a decade and i love the elastic cotton blend material.  Some key features following key points are velcro fasteners and a loop closing system. You also want amazingly breathable gloves so you are getting sufficient air. This is all needed for combat sport and heavy bag work.

I have used all sorts including the Mexican style hand wrap and everlast hand wraps i love the cotton materials however they just don't match up for me when compared to the wraps listed above however that is no disrespect ringside mexican style hand wraps.

I'm also a fan of gel wraps like sanabul wraps. And some have a spandex material. They need to come in a nice mesh bag too.

I am a big fan of the traditional wraps i find they are the best for the heavy bag and i like their cotton material as it gives a tight fit and they are incredibly durable. Wraps are so important to help protect a boxer's hands during fights and practice session.

As mentioned before the Mexican hand wraps and everlast hand wraps are brilliant just not for my style. Not putting down the everlast professional hand wraps because they are used by millions just wanted to clear that up.

I love to keep the hands cool and also like the polyester material because the soft texture soaks up the sweat while shadow boxing and gives good knuckle protection for combat sport and they have superb durability.

Next its important to have good thumb straps for a nice wrap hooked feel from traditional wraps. They need reinforced stitching because of the amount of boxing practice i do.

Best hand wrap FAQ'S

Many people are unsure about the best way to protect their hands from injury.

A lot of people don't know how to properly protect their hands from serious injuries. This can be a huge issue, especially if you play sports or work with your hands.

Wearing hand wraps is the best way to protect yourself from serious injuries. These  wraps are made of durable materials and are designed to provide a comfortable fit.

What are gel hand wraps?

Gel wraps are a type of boxing glove that is filled with a gel-like material. They are typically used to protect the hands and wrists during sparring or training.

The gel in the hand wraps helps to absorb shock and prevent injuries to the hands and wrists. They are also often used to help keep the hands warm during training or competition.

What size hand wraps should I get for Muay Thai?

The size of hand wraps you should get for Muay Thai really depends on your personal preference and what feels comfortable for you. Most people prefer wraps that are about 180-200 inches in total length, but it's really up to you.

Some people prefer to have really long wraps so they can tie them around their hands a few times for extra support, while others prefer shorter wraps that offer more mobility.

It's really up to you and what feels most comfortable. Just make sure the wrap is tight enough so that it doesn't slip off your hand during training.

Which material is best for hand wraps?

There are a few different materials that are commonly used for hand wraps, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. The most common materials are cotton, polyester, and nylon.

Cotton is the most traditional material for hand wraps, and it has a number of advantages.

Cotton is very absorbent, so it will help to wick away sweat from your hands during training. It is also relatively inexpensive, which makes it a great option if you are just starting out.

However, cotton hand wraps can become loose and slippery when they get wet, so they may not be the best choice if you tend to train in hot or humid conditions.

Polyester hand wraps are becoming increasingly popular because they offer many of the same benefits as cotton hand wraps, but they are more durable and less likely to become loose and slippery when they get wet.

They are also a bit more expensive than cotton hand wraps, but they are worth the investment if you train regularly.

Nylon hand wraps are the most expensive option, but they offer the best protection against serious injuries.

Should I get 120 or 180 hand wraps?

The answer to this question depends on a few factors, including the size of your hands, the amount of padding you need, and your budget. Here's a breakdown of the two options to help you make a decision:

120 hand wraps are typically less expensive than 180 hand wraps and they offer decent coverage for most people. If you have small hands or don't need a lot of padding, 120 hand wraps may be a good option for you.

180 hand wraps offer more coverage than 120 hand wraps and they're often made with thicker material.

This makes them ideal for people who need more support or have larger hands. However, they can be more expensive than 120 hand wraps.

What is the best size for hand wraps?

There is more or less a one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the best size for hand wraps depends on your individual body type and boxing style.

However, a good rule of thumb is to make sure that your hand wraps are long enough to cover your wrists and overlap by about 2-3 inches.

Are hand wraps or gloves better?

Assuming you are referring to hand wraps for boxing, there is no easy answer as to whether gloves or hand wraps are better.

It really depends on personal preference and what feels more comfortable for you. Some people prefer the extra support that gloves provide, while others find that hand wraps allow them to have a better grip on the boxing bag or opponent.

Ultimately, it is up to the individual to decide which works best for them.

How long do hand wraps last?

If you take good care of your hand wraps, they can last a very long time. However, depending on how often you use them and how well you wash them, they may only last a few months.

It really depends on the quality of the wrap and how well you take care of it. I have had hand wraps for over a year that are still in good condition because I clean them after every use and store them properly.

On the other hand, I have had cheap hand wraps that fall apart after just a few uses because they were not made with durable material .

To prolong the life of your hand wraps, make sure to wash them in cold water with mild deter

Are quick wraps good for boxing?

Boxing obviously isn't about the wrapping. It's about the punching. Quick wraps are just there to save you time.

That being said, quick wraps can be good for boxing if used correctly.

They can help you save time when wrapping your hands, and they can also provide some extra support for your wrists and knuckles.

However, quick wraps are not a replacement for traditional hand wraps. They should be used in addition to hand wraps, not instead of them.

Quick wraps can be a good tool for boxers, but they need to be used correctly in order to be effective.

Use them in addition to traditional hand wraps, and make sure you know how to properly wrap your hands with both types.

Wrapping your hands before putting on boxing gloves can help protect them from getting injured. It can also help keep your hands warm, which can be important in cold weather climates.

However, wrapping your hands can also make them more susceptible to getting injured if you hit someone with them incorrectly, because the wrap will act as a cushion and will not allow your hands to properly recoil after impact.

How often should i wash boxing wraps?

wraps should be washed after every use.

The purpose of  wraps is to keep the hands and wrists warm, cushioned, and supported. They also help to absorb sweat and keep the hands dry.

If the wraps are not cleaned after each use, they will become stained with sweat and bacteria, which can lead to skin irritation and infection.

Washing wraps is a simple process. Just soak them in warm water and a mild detergent for a few minutes, then rinse them thoroughly. Allow them to air-dry before using them again.
